2019 Preseason Rankings: Top 15 Defenses

While kicker is the most overlooked position in fantasy football, is defense far behind? It shouldn’t be, especially since there are some obvious elite options that will give you an advantage over the competition. Who are they? Let’s take a look:

  1. Chicago Bears – They are the elite defense in the league, coming off a year where they accumulated 50 sacks and 27 interceptions (plus they will have Khalil Mack from Day 1, fully acllimated to the defense)
  2. Jacksonville Jaguars – The addition of Josh Allen with the seventh pick of the NFL draft strengthens a defense that was already full of talent, he joins Caais Campbell, Myles Jack and last year’s first round pick Taven Bryan to form an impressive front seven
  3. Los Angeles Rams – The traded out of the first round but ultimately used two of their first three draft picks to help the secondary for a defense that allowed 31 passing TD a year ago
  4. Baltimore Ravens
  5. Minnesota Vikings
  6. Houston Texans
  7. Los Angeles Chargers
  8. Denver Broncos
  9. New Orleans Saints
  10. Kansas City Chiefs – They have the potential to be a strong group (52 sacks last season), but will a high-powered offense cause them to give up a lot of points late in games
  11. New England Patriots
  12. Cleveland Browns
  13. Dallas Cowboys
  14. Buffalo Bills
  15. Pittsburgh Steelers
