Earlier today we posted our formal Top 15 Catcher rankings for 2017 with a bit of a surprise, as Jonathan Lucroy edged out Buster Posey for the top spot. Do you agree? Disagree? Let us know who you think should be the preseason #1 ranked catcher and make sure to share your reasons in the comments!

Yesterday we posted our initial Top 10 closer rankings for 2017 (click here to view). One of the surprises was likely the position of Edwin Diaz, who came in at #4. Does he belong that high? Let’s see what you think! Make sure to share your thoughts in the comments as well:
Obviously it’s just one start and it came against a less than stellar offense in the Cincinnati Reds. That said, it’s hard to argue how impressive the Phillies’ Jeremy Hellickson was:
6.0 IP, 1 R (0 ER), 3 H, 0 BB, 6 K
Just to add to the appeal he generated 8 groundball outs vs. 2 fly ball outs and threw 55 of his 79 pitches for strikes. He also controlled Joey Votto, striking him out all three times he faced him.
Prior to the season we had dubbed Hellickson as a sleeper for those in deeper formats (click here to read) and obviously one start doesn’t make that prediction accurate. That said, it also can’t simply be ignored either.
With that in mind, let’s get to today’s poll (and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments as well):
Yesterday we learned that Aroldis Chapman had received a 30 game suspension, leaving a void in the Top Tier of closers (along with Craig Kimbrel & Kenley Jansen). Which young closer has the best chance of emerging and joining that tier in 2016? Let’s hear your thoughts:
Later this week we will be diving into Giancarlo Stanton to determine where (or if) we’d be willing to draft him for 2016. It seems like a no-brainer that arguably the elite power hitter in the game would be a first round lock, but is it really that simple?
With his injury history is he a locked in first round pick? How concerned are you about the strikeouts? Will 2016 be the year that he finally tops 40 HR (and maybe pushes 50)?
Let your voice be heard!
My opinion of Addison Russell has been one of the more discussed topics here as we start our draft prep (if you missed my in-depth look at him, click here, so now it’s your turn. How do you think Russell will perform this season? If you have a specific projection make sure to share that and any other thoughts on him in the comments as well!
