News on Church & Gordon

There’s not enough for a full Roundup, but here’s injury updates on Ryan Church and Alex Gordon:

  • Mike Rose of New York Newsday (click here for the post) is reporting that according to Mets manager Jerry Manuel, “Ryan Church should be in rightfield for the Mets tomorrow if he doesn’t suffer any setbacks while playing for Double-A Binghamton tonight”.  That certainly is great news, considering the way he started the season off.  I’d give him a few games to settle back in, but he’s going to return as a must use option in all formats that require 5 OF’ers.  He could very well become a viable options in all formats as well.
  • According to The Miami Herald (click here for the article), the Royals Alex Gordon left today’s game with “tightness in his right quadriceps” and is considered day-to-day.  He certainly has not yet emerged as the type of player people thought he would.  If you are in a format that he’s got value, move him to your bench until further notice.
