Are you following @Rotoprofessor on Twitter? If not you should be, as we Tweet out all the important bullpen notes every morning from the previous day’s games. Who is in jeopardy of losing their job? Who is worth the speculative add? Here are this morning tweets (Please note we won’t be posting these on the website every day, so make sure you follow @Rotoprofessor to ensure you don’t miss a thing):
SD: While defense played a part (0 ER), Hand implodes to allow 3 R/1 H/3 BB over 0.2 IP. He’s now allowed 8 R (2 ER) over 4.0 IP & has been bad overall since a 2.0 IP performance to start the year. Yates is a must stash #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

MIL: Knebel was struggling (0.2 IP/2 R/1 H/1 K) & now could face a lengthy trip to the DL. Speculation will be Hader stepping into role, but don’t be surprised if it’s Jacob Barnes who steps in. #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

CWS: Soria w/BSV (3 R/4 H), but lucky for him Jones wasn’t much better in 8th (1 R/3 H). Good chance Jones gets opportunity before long, but this one outing won’t cause it #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

TB: Colome implodes for BSV (1.0 IP/2 R/4 H/2 BB). It’s just one bad performance & he definitely has a lot of leeway as team lacks obvious replacement. Monitor but no concern #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

TEX: Kela again delivers (1 BB/2 K/SV) and has SV in back-to-back outings. He may not be a given, but for now he’s locked into the role #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) April 6, 2018
ARI: Boxberger w/perfect IP for 3rd SV. More important is that he didn’t walk a batter for 1st time this season. He’s not a lock to run w/role (Hirano may be next up), but if he can avoid walks he has that potential #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

PHI: It was a 5 R lead, but Neris working the 9th is telling that he’s still “the man” for now (especially w/back-to-back solid outings). He’s hardly safe, but for now he’s the RP to own #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

MIN: Rodney gets SV in fairly uneventful IP (1 BB/2 K). Doesn’t change the opinion though, as he’s not likely to hold the job all year long #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) April 6, 2018
BAL: No real surprise that Brach got SV opp & delivered (2 K/1 BB/SV). While O’Day is clear next up, Brach has put poor 1st appearance behind him & is locked in for now #MLB #FantasyBaseball #roto
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) April 6, 2018
DET: Greene gets 1st SV (3 K/1 BB) in best outing of season, but performance of Jimenez (perfect IP, 1 H/2 BB over 3.1 IP) may be more important. Past closer of future could finally get a shot #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) April 6, 2018
PIT: Rivero gets SV w/3rd straight scoreless outing. A poor spring & season debut caused concern, but he finally appears to have put that behind him #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) April 6, 2018
COL: Daivs gives up HR to Margot (1st H allowed on the season), but earns 4th SV. #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

Hand is killing me right now. Is it time to cut him or will he get back to pitching like last year?
I wouldn’t cut him, but it also wouldn’t surprise me if he lost his job. Until that happens, I’d keep him stashed and see what happens
I know there were two very bad performances, but isnt too quick to call for hand losing his job after only two bad outings? he was an all star less than a year ago…
The thing with Hand is that they’ve talked about using him outside of the ninth before the struggles. A poor start could just expedite it
