Hitter of the Week:
This week’s winner may not be the biggest surprise of the season, but he certainly should be up there. While many people have questioned Billy Butler’s ability, especially with the long ball, he’s quietly flown under-the-radar and put up a solid year. This week he put it all together and had the best week of any hitter around. He hit .419 (13-31), adding 2 HR, 4 R and 1 SB. Those numbers are nice, but where he really separated him was the RBI, where he was the only player to reach double-digits, registering 12 RBI for the week. That type of advantage was simply too big for any player to overcome.
Runner’s Up:

Pitcher of the Week:
All year long Javier Vazquez has been among the best pitcher’s in baseball. This past week, he basically blew away the field. He pitched 16 innings, the most of any pitcher, and was one of only seven who managed to pick up a pair of victories. Throw in a dazzling 1.12 ERA and 0.88 WHIP as well as a league leading 17 Ks and this was really an easy decision.
