Should owners be concerned about Rivera?

Well, the season is just about over, but according to Kat O’Brien of New York Newsday (click here for the post), could still get a little bit worse.  Apparently, Mariano Rivera is not with the club, as he is instead in New York to have his shoulder examined.  O’Brien says that according to Yankees manager Joe Girardi, it is nothing more then that he “was just getting his year-end physical now” as he wasn’t going to pitch in the past 2 days anyways.  Still, as O’Brien says, the fact that they oped not to wait until after the season has to be a cause for concern.

It’s not going to have a huge impact on the rest of this season and I don’t think it will affect next season as well.  Still, it is something worth keeping an eye on.
