Another night that typically doesn’t have many games, has double the normal amount tonight with six games scheduled to be played. Do keep in mind that the Raptors and Magic are starting at 3 PM EST so lineups need to be in by then. All the talk today is going to be about Cavs vs. Spurs and that is going to be a fantastic game. There will be plenty of other fantasy value though too for DFS action. Here are three value plays I like on tonight’s slate:
Rudy Gobert , C – Utah Jazz vs. Sacramento Kings – $4,300
You always look and see who the Sacramento Kings are playing for DFS lineup construction. There aren’t many Jazz players I trust, but the one I do like for tonight with a solid price is Rudy Gobert. While the numbers for Gobert so far this season haven’t been as outstanding as some would expect for it to be, he is still a good bet for a decent amount of points because of his shot blocking ability. Gobert hasn’t advanced as a scorer as much as you’d like, but he is one of the best, if not the best, shot blocker in the whole league. Gobert is starting to round back into form and his numbers should only keep getting better from here.
Aaron Brooks, G – Chicago Bulls @ Philadelphia 76ers – $2,200
This is a spot where you want to watch the injury report early in the day and see what the status of Derrick Rose is. Rose left the Bulls last game with a sore knee and he didn’t practice at all yesterday. Given Rose’s history and the fact that the team is playing the 76ers tonight, I don’t think they would be chancing using Rose unless they were 100% confident he couldn’t do any more damage to his knee. My gut says Brooks will be starting and in this matchup that could lead to huge fantasy value. Honestly, against the 76ers Brooks may end up being a nice play even if Rose does start.
Tobias Harris, F – Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors – $5,500
This one doesn’t really look like a value play on the surface I know, but I am anticipating big things from Harris tonight. The pricing for the Magic forward is down right now because his play has been a little bit down as of late. I think he plays a big role for the Magic who are short handed with a lot of guys who are out or questionable for today’s game. Harris can do a lot of things well and he should prove to be a matchup nightmare for the Raptors without DeMarre Carroll. A double-double is definitely in the realm of possibility and it’d be nice to see him hit 20 points again after a scoring drought recently.
