Four Point Play: Highlighting DFS Targets For 11/18/16

by Will Overton

Saturday is dominated by college football and Sunday belongs to the NFL, but it’s Friday right now and the NBA owns Friday Night. We have some solid matchups to look forward tonight including Cavs vs. Pistons, Warriors vs. Celtics and Spurs vs. Lakers.

With 10 games of NBA action also comes some really fun DFS NBA opportunities as well. If you’re watching the games tonight anyway, you might as well make it a little more interesting and have some cash on the line in DFS. If you are looking to make some lineups for tonight we are here to help by giving you some of the guys we really like on tonight’s slate:

Paul George – SF – Indiana Pacers vs. Phoenix
At the top of the board you have a choice to roll with Russell Westbrook for $12,000, or bump down into the $8,000 – $9,000 range and take a few guys. I will be going with the guys in the 8K range and Paul George is one of them I’ll have maximum exposure to. I love to target the Phoenix Suns anyway, but Paul George has also been hot lately, dropping 45 DK points or more in three of his last four games. The Suns are terrible at guarding the three-point line, allowing opponents to shoot 38% from downtown, and George should be able to capitalize on that and really rack up the points tonight.

Wesley Matthews – SG – Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis
The Memphis Grizzlies defense isn’t the easiest defense to score on, but I really like the opportunity for Matthews tonight. The Mavericks are banged up with J.J. Barea out for the next six weeks and Deron Williams fighting through a hamstring injury that may also keep him sidelined tonight. Matthews had been on a bit of a cold spell, but he broke out Wednesday Night for 22 PTS, making 6 3PTS. Matthews is going to play close to or more than 40 minutes tonight and he’s going to get shots, if he’s on he could put up a big fantasy performance at a sub $5,000 price tag.

Timofey Mozgov – C – Los Angeles Lakers vs. San Antonio
There isn’t a lot in the $4,000 and under range that I like tonight, which is another reason for me to fade Russell Westbrook tonight. If I am dipping down there though one guy I may look at, probably in a GPP, would be Mozgov. The Lakers big man is coming off one of his best games of the season where he scored 20 points had six rebounds. The production has been inconsistent from Mozgov, but hopefully he can capitalize on this last game and the Spurs have been exploitable so far this season inside.

Bonus Notes for the Night

  • I didn’t want to include him as one of my main plays because I have talked about him so much, but DeMar DeRozan is still a must play for me. This is a prime matchup with the Denver Nuggets, and at $8,600 he’s still underpriced. Only once this season has DeRozan been under 40 DK points and he’s been 45 or more for five straight games.
  • There are a handful of guys to watch tonight leading up to game time who may or may not be playing. The list includes Anthony Davis, Dreymond Green, Dwight Howard and Mike Conley. Also important to watch is the potential return from injury of Al Horford and Jae Crowder. The one injury I am particularly watching close is Dwight Howard, because if Howard is out then we can expect a nice chunk of minutes for Mike Muscala.
