Are you following @Rotoprofessor on Twitter? If not you should be, as we Tweet out all the important bullpen notes every morning from the previous day’s games. Who is in jeopardy of losing their job? Who is worth the speculative add? Here are this morning tweets (Please note we won’t be posting these on the website every day, so make sure you follow @Rotoprofessor to ensure you don’t miss a thing):
PHI: Neris took his 2nd BSV in past 3 allowing 3 R/2 H/1 BB over 0.1 IP. He's now allowed HR in 3 of past 4 & has 3 BSV since June 27. His role once seemed 100% safe, but that's no longer the case. Adam Morgan could be current next up #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

COL: Let the speculation begin again on Davis, who took L (4 R/2 H/2 BB/0.1 IP). Defense didn't help, but doesn't give him a pass. He had posted 7 scoreless in past 8 appearances so re-earned some rope, but the leash is short again #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

NYM: Diaz didn't make it easy but he got the job done (2 H/1 BB/1 K/SV). Maybe getting into and out of danger will finally get him on track, though time will tell (at least he bucked the recent trend of implosion every third appearance) #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

STL: Pitching in non-SV Martinez imploded (2 R/2 H/1 BB/L). He had been thriving in the role & this type of performance shouldn't impact his grasp on the role, though he should be on radars w/trade rumors surfacing & potential rotation return #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

LAD: Jansen imploded in spectacular fashion (3 R/4 H/0.1 IP). He had been pitching well and it's his 1st BSV since June 15 (and only his second since blowing a save on May 5). It's a frustrating performance, but a meaningless one #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

CIN: Day after getting 5 outs & working for 3rd straight Iglesias takes L (1 R/1 H/2 K). Obviously he made just 1 mistake (a HR to Schwarber) & there's no impact here but he tends to produce better when utilized in more traditional role. #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

SF: Smith got the W after allowing 2 HR & taking BSV (3 R/4 H/2 K). In the scheme of things it's meaningless, and more important that Dyson worked perfect 8th. It's 2nd straight day he was primary setup man & appears to be next up for now #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

OAK: Treinen enters into non-SV & allows a HR (1 R/1 H/1.0 IP). While there's a chance he returns to the closers role at some point, for now this is Hendricks' role & there's no imminent change in the works #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

CHC: Kimbrel worked third straight scoreless IP (1 H/1 BB/1 K). While he got off to a rough start, though that was to be expected, he appears to have righted the ship and is back to being among the better options in the league #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

TOR: Hudson lost SV opp after tack on runs in 9th, but still worked 9th (1 H/1 BB/1 K). It's clear that if Giles is moved ahead of Trade Deadline he's going to be "the man" and is a must stash if you are searching for SV #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) July 17, 2019
BOS: Hembree allowed 3 R/3 H without getting an out. Remember when there was speculation that he could assume closers role? It's safe to forget those and move on. Barring a trade we are all just waiting for Eovaldi to return to solidify things #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) July 17, 2019
PIT: Vazquez perfect (2 K) en route to earning 21st SV. There's little else to say other than he's among the elite in the game and that's not going to be changing any time soon #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
