Are you following @Rotoprofessor on Twitter? If not you should be, as we Tweet out all the important bullpen notes every morning from the previous day’s games. Who is in jeopardy of losing their job? Who is worth the speculative add? Here are this morning tweets (Please note we won’t be posting these on the website every day, so make sure you follow @Rotoprofessor to ensure you don’t miss a thing):
CIN: Both Lorenzen (0.1 IP/3 R/4 H) & Iglesias (2.0 IP/3 R/2 H/2 BB/3 K) implode, but latter gets SV. He should keep job, but he seems to fare better in a traditional role as opposed to what Reds are doing. A trade may be in his best interest #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

CWS: Colome gets 4 out SV w/Bummer grabbing HLD (1.2 IP/2 H/2 K). There's a good chance that the former gets dealt at some point ahead of the deadline and Bummer appears to have emerged as next up. Well worth stashing if you are searching for SV #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

ATL: Newcomb (0.2 IP/3 R/2 H) & Minter (0.0 IP/2 R/2 H/1 BB) combine to lose game. With Swarzak also recently hitting the IL Jackson's status as "the man" only strengthens. Maybe this eventually moves into a committee, but for now his role is safe #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

TEX: Once again Leclerc implodes when he appears to be on the potential verge of returning to role (2 R/2 H/1 BB/2 K/1.0 IP). Is there any reason to think that he's ever going to get back job? Martin appears to be a better stash for now #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

WAS: Doolittle gets into trouble (1 H/1 BB/1 K), but ultimately gets the SV. While some are going to speculate about a potential trade, Washington is back in the mix for a playoff spot & Doolittle is signed for '20. There's no reason for a deal #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

CLE: Hand made it extremely interesting (2 H/1 BB) but ultimately gets the job done (3 K/SV). It's seemingly unlikely that he gets traded, despite certain speculation, and Hand should remain one of the elite for the rest of the year #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

STL: Gant struggles w/control (0.1 IP/2 BB/1 K) before Martinez impressive (2.2 IP/1 H/1 BB/4 K). Possible he becomes "the man", but no guarantee as team may like to utilize him in this type of extended role #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

KC: Kennedy gets the job done (1 BB) to earn his 11th SV. He's locked into the role, though Diekman working the 8th (2 K) is interesting and shows he could be next up should a move be made #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) July 1, 2019
NYM: It's nice to see Diaz throw a perfect IP (2 K) to earn SV, w/Wilmer Font throwing 2.0 perfect IP (3 K) in a setup role. The bullpen has continually cost the Mets this season, but getting Diaz right is paramount to their future #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

MIL: With Hader getting the day off it's Albers who gets SV (1 H) after Jeffress worked 8th (1 K). If something were to happen to Hader no guarantee Albers is "next up", as far more likely convoluted committee #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

With Trienen coming back this week
Who do I drop
Rogers
Trienen
Martinez
I have 4 closers I don’t need another
Also does Trienen even get the closer job back. He hasn’t exactly been light out this year
I would think that he’d get the role back, at least until he blows a save. None of those are easy drops, though if you are considering Martinez a “closer” I wouldn’t consider him locked in
