Are you following @Rotoprofessor on Twitter? If not you should be, as we Tweet out all the important bullpen notes every morning from the previous day’s games. Who is in jeopardy of losing their job? Who is worth the speculative add? Here are this morning tweets (Please note we won’t be posting these on the website every day, so make sure you follow @Rotoprofessor to ensure you don’t miss a thing):
ATL: Jackson w/epic implosion for BSV/L (3 R/4 H/1 K/0.2 IP). It's his 2nd straight BSV & 4th on season. Newcomb got last SV, though may have been matchup based, as Webb worked 8th. Sit is getting messy fast, though Kimbrel rumors likely to grow #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

MIA: Romo got BSV but defense hurt him (2 unearned R/2 H/1 BB/1.0 IP). Noteworthy that Guerrero impressed for HLD (2 K) & Anderson even better after (2.0 IP/1 BB/5 K/W). Guerrero pitching 8th may indicate he's next in line to emerge into role #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

SEA: It was non-SV but Elias' ugly outing (2 R/2 H/1 BB/1 K/0.2 IP) in 8th is concerning as allowed R in four of past six outings (6 ER over 7.2 IP). Brennan was used in the 7th & appears to be the next up. Stash him now before it's too late #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

TEX: Kelley got SV but allowed a solo HR (1 R/1 H). Leclerc worked the 8th and impressed (perfect IP/1 K) and given recent talk it seems inevitable that he gets the next opps in Texas, doesn't it? The time to grab him has likely come and gone #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

CIN: Iglesias again used for just 1.0 inning & delivers (1 H/SV). At this point do you think the Reds have gotten the message? The days of them using him for multiple innings should be a thing of the past, and that adds to his value #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

CHC: Edwards opens 7th & ultimately gets BSV (2 R/2 H/0.2 IP). While he's been viewed as having closer stuff before, he's not close to being in the mix. Until they get healthy, this is Cishek's job to lose #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) May 22, 2019
NYM: Diaz gets W (1 H/2 K) after Familia implodes in 8th (2 R/2 H/1 BB/0.1 IP). With Lugo on DL Mets need to find an answer to how they will bridge to Diaz, because Familia isn't the answer as of right now #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) May 22, 2019
OAK: Nice to see Treinen with a strong outing after a little bit of a recent bump in the road (2 K in perfect IP/SV). We all knew he would take a step backwards from last year, but he's still among the better options in the league #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers
— Rotoprofessor (@Rotoprofessor) May 22, 2019
SD: Yates does it again (perfect IP/3 K) and now up to 19 SV. As we noted yesterday he's on pace for 60+ SV this season, but can he get there? #MLB #FantasyBaseball #closers

I’m getting a bit nervous with Jacksons struggles as of late, even though he looked pretty good prior to these 2 blown saves. If I was gonna try to add someone in case he loses the job, would you go with Newcomb or Brennan?
If you are betting on him being out I’d grab Newcomb (though I’m not sure they will ever hand him the job outright). I like Brennan’s upside more, but Seattle isn’t competing and they have motivation financially to keep him out of the 9th
Thanks, I’ll stand pat with Jackson for the time being.
Hello Professor,
Currently own Chapman, Doolittle, Leclerc, and Elias.
Time to drop Elias for Profar? My bat bench is short with two that are DTD.
Thanks
Yep, that works!
