Week 11 Rankings (2017): Top 50 Wide Receivers

by Will Overton

It’s interesting to look back at the rankings from Week 1 and look at where we are now in the wide receiver position. There’s been a lot of turnover at the top and if you are still stuck with the way you thought it was going to be at the beginning of the year you may be in trouble. How do things currently look?  Let’s take a look at how they shake out for Week 11:

  1. Antonio Brown – Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee
  2. Doug Baldwin – Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta
  3. Mike Evans – Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Miami
  4. Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons @ Seattle
  5. Tyreek Hill – Kansas City Chiefs @ NY Giants
  6. Michael Thomas – New Orleans Saints vs. Washington
  7. A.J. Green – Cincinnati Bengals @ Denver

Waiver Worthy (Week 10 Aftermath): Rex Burkhead, Austin Ekeler, Dontrelle Inman & More

by Will Overton

We’re at a point in the season where you not only have to look at things from a long term perspective, but also in a one week vacuum. Playoff spots are going to be decided over the next couple of weeks and it’s important that you are putting the best team possible on the “fantasy field.” With that in mind let’s look at some of the targets on the waiver wire and decide who can make your team better both this week and the rest of the season:

Rex Burkhead – RB, New England Patriots
The New England Patriots running game is such a guessing game it can be very frustrating to use any of them on your fantasy team. That said we’ve seen Burkhead get more and more involved the last couple weeks, and he currently seems to be just a notch below Dion Lewis on the totem pole. Read more

Sunday Morning Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em: Joe Mixon, T.Y. Hilton, Charles Clay & More

by Will Overton

Week 10 is set to kick off in just a few hours now, and if you’re like me you are spending the morning drinking your coffee and agonizing over fantasy football lineups. We will try and help you get caught up with some players I like or don’t like based on recent news:

Bilal Powell – New York Jets – Running Back
News broke on Friday that Matt Forte wouldn’t be playing this week due to the continued swelling in his knee. The last few weeks Forte has been the Jets featured back, but now Bilal Powell should get a chance to win the coaching staff over. Powell will almost certainly still share snaps with Elijah McGuire, but the Bucs run defense has been pretty average this season, and Powell is also a better than average receiver out of the backfield and Josh McCown loves to throw to RB’s. This is a good opportunity for Powell and fantasy owners should take advantage. Read more

Thursday Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em: Adrian Peterson, Thomas Rawls & More

by Will Overton

Thursday games are often tricky as it is, because there isn’t necessarily a reason to take any undue risks with questionable options (which could set you back and spoil your week).  Who are the borderline players that should be in lineups?  Who should be sat down?  Let’s take a look at the skill players taking the field tonight and try to answer those questions:

Arizona Cardinals

Drew Stanton – Quarterback
You’ve got a career backup quarterback taking on one of the better defenses in the league, this is a pretty cut and dry one here I think. There’s a chance that the Cardinals get down big and Stanton is forced to throw more than they would like, but even then the results probably won’t be very good. Let’s just keep moving… Read more

Week 10 Rankings (2017): Top 50 Wide Receivers

We’re back to just four bye weeks finally, but things still feel pretty thin at WR. Mike Evans is looking at a one game suspension, while Pierre Garcon is out for the year now and Chris Hogan is also likely to miss action this week. With all this in mind I’ve got my breakdown of the top 50:

  1. Antonio Brown – Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis
  2. Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas
  3. A.J. Green – Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennessee
  4. Doug Baldwin – Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona
  5. Michael Thomas – New Orleans Saints @ Buffalo
  6. Dez Bryant – Dallas Cowboys @ Atlanta
  7. DeAndre Hopkins – Houston Texans @ LA Rams

If you’re paying attention and playing this week then you are clearly playing for something big. 1. Jordy Nelson – Green Bay Packers @ Detroit
  2. Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans

  4. Mike Evans – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina
  5. Brandin Cooks – New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta

Week 16 Rankings (2016): Top 50 Wide Receivers

Waiver Worthy: Week 15 Fallout: Dion Lewis, Tyler Lockett & More

by Will Overton

Championship week isn’t the ideal time to be relying on waiver wire pickups to save your team, but you also don’t want to be so stuck in your ways that you pass up guys who can be helpful. If you have an injury to fill, or a spot that you find yourself streaming week to week, we are going to help you navigate the waiver wire by looking at some of the standouts from Week 15 available in a majority of leagues:

Dion Lewis – RB, New England Patriots
The running back pool right now is very weak, but Lewis is available in over 50% of leagues on ESPN. It seemed like the Patriots were content to keep Lewis as a piece of a three headed monster and not a focal point of the offense, until yesterday. Lewis ran the ball 18 times for 95 yards and also caught a pair of passes. We know he is more talented than James White, and if the Patriots are looking to move back to a two man crew at running back then Lewis is a great add.
Verdict: Must Add If Available Read more
