Week 1 Rankings (2017): Top 15 Kickers

by Eric Stashin (aka The Rotoprofessor)

You can argue that kicker is always one of the most frustrating spots to fill, though figuring it out for the first week of the season is that much tougher.  Which offense is going to thrive?  Which defense is going to be able to shut things down, forcing teams to settle for three points?  Let’s try to sort it all out:

Week 1 Rankings (2017): Top 40 Running Backs

by Eric Stashin (aka The Rotoprofessor)

While we still wait for some clarity to the Ezekiel Elliot suspension, at this point it’s hard to imagine that he won’t be on the field for Week 1 (though if something changes we’ll update these rankings).  Even if he does play, though, he’s unlikely to carry the typical value given the matchup.  Who else gets a tough draw?  Who should we be targeting?  Let’s take a look at how our rankings currently stand:

  1. David Johnson – Arizona Cardinals – at Detroit
  2. Le’Veon Bell – Pittsburgh Steelers – at Cleveland
  3. LeSean McCoy – Buffalo Bills – vs. New York Jets
  4. Jay Ajayi – Miami Dolphins – vs. Tampa Bay
  5. Todd Gurley – St. Louis Rams – vs. Indianapolis
  6. Jordan Howard – Chicago Bears – vs. Atlanta
  7. Dalvin Cook – Minnesota Vikings – vs. New Orleans

We all know that tight end can be one of the most frustrating positions to fill, as there always seems to be multiple disappointments (as well as players who rise and fall from week-to-week).  The first week may be the toughest to interpret, as we are basing it on assumptions instead of facts.  How do we see things stacking up in the opening week?  Let’s take a look:

  1. Rob Gronkowski – New England Patriots – vs. Kansas City
  2. Travis Kelce – Kansas City Chiefs – at New England
  3. Delanie Walker – Tennessee Titans – vs. Oakland
  4. Jordan Reed – Washington Redskins – vs. Philadelphia
  5. Tyler Eifert – Cincinnati Bengals – vs. Baltimore
  6. Greg Olsen – Carolina Panthers – at San Francisco
