Thoughts:
- While A.J. Green may not have the same chance of blowing up for 300 yards or scoring multiple TD, his consistency game in and game out is what brings him to the top of these rankings. Over the last three games he is averaging 7.7 catches per game for 126 yards. Green is almost a lock for seven or eight catches and 90 – 100 yards, at the least. The matchup with the Giants isn’t the best of the best, but it’s solid and I can see the Bengals and Giants getting into a high scoring matchup.
- The return of Jay Cutler to the Bears two weeks ago seemed to brighten things up for Alshon Jeffery. In a tough matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, Jeffery caught four passes for 63 yards and scored his first TD of the season. Now this week in his second game back,, Cutler and Jeffery get the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been known to give up a lot of yards and a lot of points. I think they keep the good vibes rolling and we see the return of the Top 10 WR, Alshon Jeffery.
- We have seen some chinks in the armor of Carson Wentz after a hot start to the season. What we haven’t seen, despite the occasional struggles, is a loss of connection between Wentz and Jordan Matthews. The Eagles premier wide receiver has a great rapport with his QB, and as evidenced by his 24 targets the last two weeks it’s continuing to grow. Matthews is reaching that must start territory and with a prime matchup he’s in the WR1 discussion.
- A matchup with the Cleveland Browns is one you want to circle for your wide receivers, and even on Thursday Night I really like the Baltimore Ravens pair of Mike Wallace and Steve Smith Sr. I have Wallace ranked the highest because of his big play ability, but it is exciting to see Smith Sr. healthy again and he could be racking up the catches, which might give him the nod of these two in a PPR league. Either way, I would feel very comfortable with either.
- At this point in time we don’t know whether Travis Benjamin will be able to play or not, but I am leaning towards guessing he sits. With a strong matchup against the Miami Dolphins, Tyrell Williams looks awfully appealing as the number one option. Williams seems to be hitting every other week, but I think this might be the time in which he breaks that cycle and puts up another back-to-back strong games. The connection with Phillip Rivers is growing and if Benjamin is out big things could be in store.
- There are a lot of injury questions heading into Week 10, and one of those is DeSean Jackson. In Week 8 he suffered a head contusion and while a concussion was ruled out he didn’t re-enter the game. A week off helped I am sure, but there haven’t been many updates to his status. Either way, we are definitely at a point in which Jamison Crowder is the Redskins receiver you want to own. Crowder has back-to-back 100 yard games and has two TD in three games. While the matchup with the Vikings isn’t great, we’ve seen guys do much better in the underneath game than deep down the field, and that suits Crowder well.

What do you think of offering Forte and Snead for Amari Cooper, coming up on trade deadlines and I have Dion Lewis stashed with David Johnson and LeVeon Bell. I feel less sure with my current WR but not a lot of great options available. Currently have J.Nelson, Montgomery, C.Coleman, Moncrief, K.Benjamin, and Snead.
If you don’t need Forte, I’m good with it. As it is, there’s a good chance his usage regresses moving forward
WR options on WW right now that could be good adds are Crowder, J.J. Nelson, Rishard Matthews, K. Wright. Any of those look more appealing than the trade for ROS?
None of them are going to be better than Cooper
HI prof. Ned help I have minny d and Arizona d. Need a roster space. Should I keep both. Thinking about letting Vikings go. What to do. Or is it smart to keep two defenses
Thanks
You don’t need to keep two. If you need the roster spot, move on
Which RB would you drop for Playoffs. DuJuan Harris, Dion Lewis, Robert Kelley, or James Starks or Tyrone Montgomery.
A lot is going to change between now and then, but right now it’s Lewis
Would you like Bibbs over Harris.
Tough. Bibbs may not need an injury to take the lead role, so I’d lean for him at this point.
Hey Prof,
Gostkowski or Tucker ROS?
I’d lean Gostkowski
My thought as well. Thanks Prof!
Hey roto! I need 1 rb. I have David Johnson already and having trouble between booker and Howard. Who would u lean toward??
I’d go Howard, for now, but that has a chance to change quickly. Neither are highly dependable at the moment
hey professor, 1/2 pt ppr league. which 3 wrs would you start. beckham, cooks, d. thomas. montgomery
You never sit Beckham.
I’d lean Thomas/Montgomery (somewhat scared that NO goes to other weapons, or run heavy approach but it;s close)
Prof,
Jimmy Graham or Randall Cobb in Flex spot this week?
Hey what one you like better for non ppr
Montgomery
Sanders
Davante adams
Wallace
Alrdy have in cobb and jordy
Prof- std. league – pick three to start- Bryant, K. Benjamin, D. Hopkins, and Doug Baldwin. You still have Hopkins in top 10- why? Thanks
steve smith or ty monygomery
PPR, 14 deep league. So I was offered Randall Cobb for Mark Ingram…normally i’d jump w/o a net but I already have Jordy. I proposed back he give me Kelvin Benjamin instead, which I doubt he’ll go for…thoughts? I have Evans in WR1 and Sterling Shepard on the bench. My other RB’s are Gordon, Michael and Stewart…Bilal Powell and James Stark on the bench.
I ended up trading Michael for Jarvis Landry. Assuming Stewart in RB2, Stewart or Landry in flex?
If Atewart is your RB2 is there even a choice??
Sorry, I meant, if Stewart is RB2, Ingram or Lanry in flex?
Both are risky, so I’d rather take the risk on Ingram.
Good luck!
Jim – Assuming he’s healthy, I’d lean Cobb
Matt – I want to say Montgomery, but that’s a lot of Packers to depend on. I’d go Sanders
Eric – I can’t speak for Will on his rankings (I wouldn’t have Hopkins in the top 10). That said, I’d sit Baldwin
usmc22 – Montgomery for me
Krysta – I wouldn’t be so quick to give up Ingram honestly, especially with the RB you have
Need two of four for my final flex spot in PPR league…
J Graham, T West, D. Bryant, B. Cooks
West’s usage makes me nervous, so I’m going Bryant/Cooks
Hello Prof
Ten team standard. As of now I have Brandin Cooks as my WR 2 and Blount and A. Rob as my two flex spots. On my bench I have Rishard Matthews and Kenny Britt. Would you suggest switching either of them in for someone in my starting lineup? Mariota is my QB.
Thanks for any advice
Donnie
Nope, I’d go with what you’ve got
Corey Coleman over Brandin Cooks? – I am already starting Brees and Ingram. (Standard scoring)
I’d still go Cooks, it’s a lot of Saints but gotta go with best options
Full PPR & TDs are only 3 pts (yardage is standard 1 yd/0.1 pt), need to sit one of Tyrell Williams, Randall Cobb, Jordan Reed, thanks.
Probably Cobb, but he’s not much ahead of Williams.
For my flex I have in Peyton barber but it’s looking like Doug martin is gonna play and they say it’s limited but between barber and Mike James seeing the bulk of carries, coach will ride the hot hand. That is not giving confidence in my flex spot. 3 guys I’m looking at on the wire are listed above on your list consecutively: jj nelson, sterling shepherd, Kenny britt.
Nelson is playing San Francisco in a huge plus matchup but David Johnson could potentially dominate the game.
Britt is a solid flex play and probably my best floor option but case keenum is terrible.
Shepherd has increased value with cruz being a game time decision and I also read that the Bengals have allowed the opposing slot receiver to score a td or go over 100 yds every game this season. That tidbit is pulling me towards shepherd.
So, do I stay with barber or go with one of the 3 receivers for my flex spot?
If Martin is going to play, I’d lean Britt (even with the poor QB). The Jets defense hasn’t been very good and you’d think they’d still be able to make plays (though I like Gurley to carry the load)
Seeing that Martin is healthy would you consider starting him over J. Howard or Ware?
Nope, “healthy” is one think but it’s hard to imagine him carrying a full load
cobb, cooks or baldwin
Hi Prof! Which one would you start Booker or Ware? 12 team standard league! Thanks!
STEVEN – Baldwin
Tiffany – Ware
sorry gotta pick 2 Baldwin, cook or cobb
Baldwin/Cook
