Thoughts:

  • I don’t put Dez Bryant in the Top 5 of this list without hesitation, but my fears are slowly being eased. In four games since returning from injury he has four TD grabs, and while he had one terrible game he has had three really good ones. I worried at first about Dak Prescott being able to get him the ball effectively, but those fears have been answered as Bryant keeps racking up the yardage. This is a prime matchup in a big spot on Thanksgiving Day, so I expect that we’ll see the best from Bryant.
  • The model of consistency at the position right now might just be Larry Fitzgerald. The veteran receiver has at least five catches in every game this season. In just the last four games he has 37 catches, a truly impressive feat. The struggle of it is that he hasn’t found the end zone in any of the last five games. Fitzgerald is still getting targeted in the red zone more than anyone else and so I think the TD’s are going to come and meanwhile he gets you points in other ways.
  • At last Julian Edelman is starting to come alive for the Patriots. He has two TD grabs in the last three games and in the last two weeks he has 15 catches for 176 yards. The Patriots options on offense are dwindling and Edelman is re-emerging as the go to guy for Tom Brady. This is a good time for Edelman to hit a big time matchup against the New York Jets too and I expect we’ll see borderline WR1 numbers.
  • Father time has yet to catch up with Steve Smith Sr., as he just turned in one of his best performances of the season with eight catches for 99 yards and a TD. This is now back to back weeks with a TD catch and he’s back to that place where you can trust him as an almost weekly option. Smith has supplanted Mike Wallace as the go to guy once again and I see him as an option in all formats this week.
  • Who would’ve thought after waiting all this time for Kenny Britt to be a consistent fantasy option, it finally happens when he has some of the worst QB’s of his career. He is consistently grabbing four to five catches and he’s a threat to score a TD in every game. Now he’s coming into a huge opportunity against the New Orleans Saints, and while Jared Goff is less than trustworthy the numbers should still be there.
  • At this point how can you not trust Rishard Matthews to be an every week player for you? In the last seven weeks he has 6 TD and is averaging almost five catches per game. Despite not finding the end zone this last week, it may have been Matthews best game as he grabbed nine catches for 122 yards. Marcus Mariota gets others involved, like Tajae Sharpe, Delanie Walker and Kendall Wright, but Matthews is the go to go guy and I trust him at this point in almost any matchup.

HI prof 10 team std. Start 2 rubs from McCoy ware booker and Jeremy hill. Also who to start Eli zak or mariota and flex Jarvis Landry or a rb. Thanks

  2. Keith says:

    Q1
    10 team standard on Yahoo
    Need 3
Jordy Nelson, Kelvin Benjamin, Donte Moncrief, Jamison Crowder, Rishard Matthews, Cameron Meredith
Kelvin has been pretty consistent with the 6-7 point range but Cam’s play this year is bringing me down on him

    Q2
Would you drop either Ty Montgomery or Cameron Meredith at this point to try for Tyler Boyd after the AJ Green injury?

    • Keith says:

      Q3
Do you think losing the threat of AJ will help or hurt Eifert down the stretch? More looks but the extra coverage guy that AJ normally merited will be free to roam now.

  3. Krysta says:

More of a flex question. I’m starting RB’s are Melvin Gordon and Jonathan Stewart. Assuming everyone’s healthy, who in flex: Mark Ingram (who could be interchanged w/Stewart?), Jarvis Landry, Sterling Shepard or James Starks? I am in a must win situation for the last spot in the playoffs!!

  4. Gern says:

Where would you put Watkins upon his return? I picked up D Jax when Green went down, but have Edelman, Matthews, and Tate who could hold the fort while awaiting Watkins’ return. Just not sure if D Jax or Watkins have a higher ceiling ROS. My guess is D Jax has a higher floor, but it’s probably just below Tate.

  5. Haggy says:

If I can’t get Boyd is Lafell worth taking.

  6. Chris says:

Is ty Hilton still worth playing if Andrew luck doesn’t play my other options are Diggs marshall and Landry and my other starter is jordy nelson

  7. Barney – McCoy (ih healthy)/Ware; Mariota; Booker for the FLEX

    Keith:
    Q1 – At this point I’m going Jordy/Benjamin/Matthews (though I have concerns)
Q2 – Montgomery can go w/o an issue
Q3 – It may help in his opportunities, especially with Bernard out as well

Krysta – Of those guys, I’d probably roll Starks

Gern – I’d say Watkins has the higher ceiling but the lower floor

Haggy – I’d go Boyd of the two

Chris – Probably not, unless Diggs is hurt

  8. Carmen says:

    Hello Prof,
currently have nelson + fitzgerald as my main WRs- but as my flex, I have the choice to roll diggs, moncrief, britt or wallace..initially I was leaning towards diggs, but it seems as though when he isn’t 100%, he certainly doesn’t play 100% (he appears to be somewhat banged up this week)

also, my first RB is bell thankfully, but my choice for my second RB is crowell or rawls…crowell has been all over the place this season, and I fear for the brown’s constant choice to simply abandon the run game when things aren’t looking up (+ rawls seems as though he’ll be chief back next week)

    opinions?

  9. JL says:

Mariota or R. Wilson? Need 2 stand: TY, tyrell williams, d. thomas, r. cobb, sterling shepard? Thank you

    Hi Prof,

    K. Dixon or D. Lewis ROS ? My wish is to replace one of them by S. Watkins.

    Thanks a lot !

  11. YFish says:

    Hello Prof,

In an one point, PPR, would it be advisable to start TY Hilton without the presence of Luck or should I take the safer route and pick Crabtree?

  12. YFish says:

    Also, Eifert or Kelce? Thanks

  13. chris says:

Need a WR1 and WR2- currently have Hilton and cobb starting but no Andrew luck makes me hesitant. I have crabtree and pryor on the bench. Please Help!!! also have Meredith .

  14. darrick says:

hey professor, which 2 wr’s do i start this week in a 1/2 ppr league. D.thomas, B.cooks, R.matthews or Beasly

  15. Jim says:

    Prof,

Do you think Marvin Jones will turn it around? Should I drop him for Steve Smith, Sammy Watkins, Tyler Boyd, Sterling Shepard. Please rank these for the ROS. Thanks.

  16. chris – I’d stick with Hilton, it’s Moncrief I’m real concerned about

    darrick – Thomas/Cooks

Jim – I would drop him for Watkins, with Smith #2 and the other two real intriguing

  17. Eric says:

Ok prof- std. League which 5 would u roll? Dez, Baldwin, K. Benjamin, Martin, Miller, Reddick, J. Stewart

  18. Too Tall says:

    Hi Professor,

    10 team standard league.

I have J. Crowder, Tyrell Williams, J. Nelson, DeAndre Hopkins for WRs. Booker, Ware, Coleman, Howard, and T. Hightower for Rbs. Would you drop any for Sammy Watkins? And is it time to give up on DeAndre Hopkins or wait a couple weeks? Thanks.

  19. LK says:

    Hey Prof,
If Diggs is out would you consider Thielen or Boyd?

  20. Eric – I’d sit Riddick, Stewart & Benjamin

Too Tall – Can’t give up on Hopkins completely. As for Watkins, well worth grabbing. I’d love to say drop Hightower, but you need RB more so I’d prob. ditch Crowder

  21. romo says:

hey roto. i need 3. pryor, hilton, meridth, sanders, or landry. I’m not sure if i fully trust hilton given he’s ranked high on ur list

  22. chris says:
