While kickers are often an afterthought for fantasy owners, they shouldn’t necessarily be. Let’s take a look at our Week 11 rankings:
- David Akers – San Francisco 49ers – vs. Arizona
- Dan Bailey – Dallas Cowboys – at Washington
- Sebastian Janikowski – Oakland Raiders – at Minnesota
- Jason Hanson – Detroit Lions – vs. Carolina
- Robbie Gould – Chicago Bears – vs. San Diego
- Billy Cundiff – Baltimore Ravens – vs. Cincinnati
- Mason Crosby – Green Bay Packers – vs. Tampa Bay
- Stephen Gostkowski – New England Patriots – vs. Kansas City
- Mike Nugent – Cincinnati Bengals – at Baltimore
- Rob Bironas – Tennessee Titans – at Atlanta
- Nick Novak – San Diego Chargers – at Chicago
- Nick Folk – New York Jets – at Denver
- Dan Carpenter – Miami Dolphins – vs. Buffalo
- Alex Henery – Philadelphia Eagles – at New York Giants
- Olindo Mare – Carolina Panthers – at Detroit
Thoughts:
- The Washington Redskins have allowed the most field goals in the league at 22. With Dan Bailey currently at 22-for-23, including nine field goals of at least 40 yards, you have to consider him one of the best options for the coming week. The real question is if you think the Redskins are going to be able to force the Cowboys to settle for three points instead of seven.
- Mason Crosby remains a good option, though it would be nice if he got to kick a few more field goals, wouldn’t it? He’s a perfect 16-for-16, but only four of his field goals have been from 40 yards or more. That is going to cap his value.
- Any time someone is kicking in Denver they are going to get a slight bump in value. Nick Folk hasn’t been tremendous this season, but he did hit a 50 yarder in Denver in 2010, as well as a 40 yarder there in 2009 (those are his only two kicks in that stadium during his career). He should be considered a low-end option in all formats.

Due to a Bye week I have picked up Hansen during his bye to sub for Kasey. I have thought all along I would go back to Kasey after this week but Hansen has alot of upside with his remaining matchups.
So, ROS which one would you go with Kasey or Hansen?
You are talking about two of the Top 5 or 6 kickers in the league this season so you really can’t go wrong with either one. Both kick in a dome at home, so that’s not going to be an issue.
Kasay’s offense is a little more high-powered, so I could see Hanson getting a few more opportunities. They are close, but I could see going with Hanson.
