While kickers are often an afterthought for fantasy owners, they shouldn’t necessarily be. Let’s take a look at our Week 15 rankings:
- Mason Crosby – Green Bay Packers – vs. Chicago
- David Akers – San Francisco 49ers – at Seattle
- Dan Bailey – Dallas Cowboys – vs. Philadelphia
- Neil Rackers – Houston Texans – at Indianapolis
- Sebastian Janikowski – Oakland Raiders – at Kansas City
- John Kasay – New Orleans Saints – vs. Atlanta
- Stephen Gostkowski – New England Patriots – vs. Miami
- Mike Nugent – Cincinnati Bengals – vs. Arizona
- Jason Hanson – Detroit Lions – vs. San Diego
- Nick Novak – San Diego Chargers – at Detroit
- Billy Cundiff – Baltimore Ravens – vs. Cleveland
- Matt Bryant – Atlanta Falcons – at New Orleans
- Graham Gano – Washington Redskins – vs. Minnesota
- Rob Bironas – Tennessee Titans – vs. Jacksonville
- Alex Henery – Philadelphia Eagles – at Dallas
Thoughts:
- Obviously you expect the Green Bay Packers to score touchdowns, not field goals. That said it is not impossible to think that they are going to scale back the offense and look to rest some of their regulars. I’m not sure they will, but it’s possible. Considering the Bears have allowed 28 field goals on the season, it’s hard not to like Mason Crosby.
- As always, will the New Orleans Saints or New England Patriots settle for field goals or score touchdowns? The fact that John Kasay and Stephen Gostkowski could be simply kicking extra points, as opposed to getting a few field goals, keeps them as middle of the road options.
