Miami Dolphins vs. Seattle
Yahoo – 37%, ESPN – 25.0%
The Seattle Seahawks simply are not the same team on the road as they are at home. In their five games on the road they have scored over 16 points once (24 against the Lions in Week 8). Otherwise they have put up point totals of 16, 13, 16 and 6. Quarterback Russell Wilson has 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in home starts, but just four touchdowns and eight interceptions in games on the road.
Those are stark numbers, and it is not like Miami’s defense is terrible with 27 sacks and eight interceptions on the year. They also handle the run pretty well (96.8 yards per game, four touchdowns). If they can bottle up Marshawn Lynch, putting even more pressure on Wilson and the passing attack, the Dolphins could be in store for a good day.
While they obviously have some risk involved, if I had to gamble on a defense this week Miami would be my top choice.
Arizona Cardinals vs. St. Louis
Yahoo – 38%, ESPN – 22.3%
The Cardinals have actually produced defensively this season:
- 28 sacks
- 14 interceptions
- 8 fumble recoveries
While the Cardinals are not an awful offensive team (especially with Danny Amendola back), they have allowed 26 sacks and thrown nine interceptions. The matchup is there for the Cardinals to make some plays and generate some points for fantasy owners.
