Update on Lincecum and more

Not enough for a full Roundup, but I wanted to touch on these 3 notes:

  • John Shea of The San Francisco Chronicle (click here for the article) is reporting that, though it is unknown on if he will miss a start or not, Tim Lincecum suffered “just a bone bruise” last night when he was hit with a line drive.  That’s certainly a big-time relief for all fantasy owners.  You may want to move him to your bench, depending on your innings cap (if you have one), but it sounds like he’s only going to miss a start or two, at most.
  • According to Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer (click here for the article), the Indians will have Zack Johnson take Paul Byrd’s start on Thursday.  He has gone 3-1 with a 4.05 ERA at Triple A since the team acquired him earlier this season from the Brewers as part of the deal that sent CC Sabathia to Milwaukee.  I wouldn’t consider using him at this point.
  • The Tigers have placed Joel Zumaya on the DL, according to tsn.ca (click here for the article).  Yeah, big deal at this point.
